Measure T Battle Shaping Up Get Involved Today!

James Faulk, Times-Standard
May 27, 2006

EUREKA -- The battle over Measure T -- which seeks to ban corporate campaign donations from outside the area -- has so far been waged with only local money.

The Humboldt Coalition for Community Rights, which backs the measure, has so far raised $20,720. Of that, $13,173 is in cash. They have a total of $563 left on hand.

Their donors include $1,015 from Gil Gregori and Robie Tenorio of Garberville; $700 from Erick Jansson of McKinleyville; $500 from Nick Frank of Trinidad; $500 from the Local Solutions political action committee; and $349 from Dr. Ken Miller of McKinleyville.

The No on Measure T Committee has so far raised $3,523, with $2,603 of that in cash. The committee still has $906 on hand.

The committee's donors include a number of companies, including Reprop Financial at $250; Renner Petroleum at $100; Schmidbauer Lumber at $250; O&H Industries at $500; and Granite Construction Co. at $500.
